♥ 2008: A Recap

2008 - a year full of unexpected turns and surprises. Lemme summarize what happened to my 2008 by month. Oh, and thanks to my handy-dandy Starbucks Planner.

January

- First time to volunteer as an 'Ate' for the For the Kids (FTK).
- ROTC comrade RJ Manzano passed away
- I enrolled in Instituto Cervantes for Spanish Classes! and made new friends!

February

- Kat's Debut. Even if it's not my debut, i had so much fun celebrating one of the last debut parties I'll attend to! oh, and Joyce lost her phone despite meeting a "cute" guy. (take note of cute in quotation marks).
- LEAP Class. Even if we were planning to attend the Ice Skating class, we ended up in our 2nd choice - Bartending! We had so much fun and was actually inspired for a minute to take up Bartending Classes just for fun.
- Even if we were single during Valentine's Day, we got the chance to donate blood. It was my first time to donate blood and it was painful but worth it!

March

- First time to do an outreach service with DOGS! It was part of our Theology and Religion Class (TREDTWO) to be part of a service center and we chose PAWS which handles animal rehabilitation and through PAWS we signed up for the Dr. Dog program which aims to put a smile on a terminally ill child through dog visits in the hospital. This activity is one of the most memorable things which happened to me in 2008.

April

- First failure in my entire school life!! I failed Accounting 1 (ACTBAS1) by 3 points.
- Twilight obssession at its finest! I finally read the saga, and of course went gaga over those immortal and uber-gorgeous vamps.

May

- Macau - Hong Kong Trip with mom. This trip was the first time me and my mom went abroad together after so many years!
- my old laptop died after that Macau-Hong Kong trip, and school was about to start when the laptop died. Talk about great timing!
- I fainted.
- David Cook was "crowned" or whatever you call it as the American Idol!
-Arisa's Debut and I got drunk.

June

- nothing great happened this month...just an ordinary month.

July

- I got a new laptop!!
- Melayne's Debut and my highschool friends and I had a mini-reunion.

August

- I finally have an iPod, and its for free! It also came with speakers and a universal docking station.
- My mom was rushed to the hospital for High Blood.
- Passed Spanish Level 3 in Instituto Cervantes with flying colors! Very colorful colors, mind you!

September

- 2nd term in a row, I failed 2 classes (but my 'rents know that I only failed one). A very depressing result!

October

- Mama's (my lola) first death anniversary.
- For the first time in ages, I was awake for 38 hours straight!
- Celebrated my 19th birthday, and my friends surprised me with a cake, a big birthday card, and balloons which got popped before they got to me. Had a birthday dinner wth family. That was the best birthday ever!

November

- First concert in ages - Rihanna and Chris Brown Live in Taguig!
- My friend, Cleo went back to Manila after 5 years! I got my yearbook (HS) with Cleo and Jasmine. Gradeschool memories!
- Michael Johns Live in Greenbelt Park! Got to have a picture with him!! Total fan-girl mode!

December

- 3rd term in a row - I failed a class again! But this time I got a 4.0 in one class and passed Thesis Proposal! Mixed emotions, but mostly happy!!
- My aunt went back here to Manila to spend Christmas and New Year.
- Watched a local movie in a movie house - "Iskul Bukol". First time in a long time!

Basically, my 2008 ws filled with much of "first times". 2008 was a great year for me and my friends and of course, also to my family. Though my family is experiencing a rough time - in terms of filial connections, we are still a-ok. I guess, with some rare moments, we are also blessed and also financially stable despite the financial crisis everyone's talking about.

I'm hoping for a great - if not greater - 2009. I'm not expecting much,but it would be great if 2009 would turn out to be much greater than 2008.

♥ MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

They say that this is the MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR - and it is! Everyone's on the festive mood, even if we all don't have money in pockets. I guess money is just that - money, and whether we have tons of that or none at all; what counts is that we have our families with us, celebrating this wonderful season that is Christmas (or whatever it is you and your families celebrate).

I am very much thankful to the Lord for all the blessings he has bestowed on us and thankful that everyone is a-ok. Thankful because, unlike last year, I didn't know anyone personally who died, or was seriously ill.

So, again I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and may you and your families be continually blessed!
